Our top travel nap hack has nothing to do with sleep

If there’s one thing babies and toddlers don’t leave at home, it’s their sleep schedules—and we must 👏 respect 👏 the nap 👏.

But being nap-trapped in a hotel room or Airbnb for a few hours a day while in a beautiful place for a limited amount of time can be so dang hard!

So, what are adventure parents to do?

Stay somewhere with a view OR outdoor space

Instead of feeling stuck and antsy, you can enjoy a beautiful view or a refreshing breeze for a couple hours. Spending a little more or redirecting some of our budget to make this happen has turned nap time while traveling from something we "deal with" into something that we all look forward to.

BONUS: Try the "every-other-day" nap method

Each day of your trip, alternate between on-the-go naps (in the stroller, car seat, or hiking carrier) and more solid naps in your hotel or Airbnb. This keeps your little one well rested while also letting you enjoy more time out and about.

Portable White Noise Machine

Many adventure families have found that portable white noise is essential when traveling with little ones!

It not only helps diffuse unfamiliar sounds, but also acts as a comforting and familiar cue for your little's brain that it's time for sleep!
